-Assist in the preparation of research protocols and informed consent documents
-Provide administrative support to the PI and Co-investigators incuding preparation of study documents, such as IRB Submission adn progress reports
-Assist with the recruitment and screening of potential study participants and determine protocol eligibility
-Collect necessary specimens (blood, urine or other) for active research protocols./Record height, weight and blood pressure
-Facilitate the processing of specimens
-Independently oversee the accomplishment of one or more protocols to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP's)
-Assist the clinical manager in overseeing Medical Assistants
-Provide training and quality control of data collection staff
-Perform other duties as required

The Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) is a multi-center epidemiologic study of Hispanic/Latino population to determine the role of acculturation in the prevalence and development of disease, and to identify risk factors playing a protective or harmful role in Hispanics/Latinos. The Bronx site of HCHS/SOL is one of Four national sites contracted by the government to recruit Hispanic Latino adults residing in the Bronx territory.
The Research Nurse will have a primary assignment to the Hispanic Community Health Study. RN nurse will collect blood & other specimens from study participants. The Nurse will also work with the PI on protocol/consent formulation, regulatory submissions, adverse event reporting, and yearly progress reports. S/he is expected to establish and maintain effective communication with professional and ancillary personnel, and to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and autonomy.
