The SMBC Americas Division Innovation Team is seeking a Digital Strategy Specialist to join the team. The Digital Strategy Specialist role will serve on the core team, leveraging knowledge of industry leaders and innovative startups to power digitalization throughout the firm. This role will be responsible for helping to share information with the relevant stakeholders, control budget, monitor projects, align efforts with the global strategy, and coordinate with the corporate venture capital fund. The successful candidate will combine a strong understanding of fintech, regtech, and other innovative startups, plus business analysis skills, experience handling project management, as well as UI / UX or data science know-how to manage the Innovation Team s roadmap, assess new use cases, partner with the appropriate vendors, manage the strategic delivery of solutions, and work within the program framework to push transformation throughout the Americas Division. Utilizing knowledge of leading industry players (fintech, regtech, startups, venture firms, accelerators, etc.) to introduce potential solutions to SMBC Leveraging knowledge of industry trends and network, to push digitalization in the Americas Division, through process re-engineering and process transformative activities. Leverage industry knowledge and contacts to help guide Corporate Venture Leading of business process mapping for projects, including identification of change impacts and needed business controls Leading of requirements gathering, process and business analysis using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and data science approaches as appropriate. Creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performing evaluation of vendor solutions. Assist with the organizational change management activities (e.g. communications, stakeholder impacts, training, etc.) Create and maintain functional documentation for already enhanced processes and or candidate processes Managing dialogue with new vendors, evaluating new technologies. Manage the program s overall delivery timeframe, applying technical insights to de-risk the effort and provide strategic advise Identify the program s critical path and dependencies, working within the program framework to resolve issue and advance progress Act entrepreneurially and in collaboration with the business and external resources to continuously innovate the processes and systems of the Americas Division. Lead cross-functional teams to deliver solutions, on time and on budget Develop machine learning, optimization and other modeling solutions Prepare comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses Reporting to key stakeholders and senior management Other activities as assigned Analytical skills necessary to make solid decisions: define problem or process improvement opportunity, identify and analyze options, propose solution Aptitude for trouble-shooting issues Team-oriented individual and self-starter who excels at learning new processes and business functions Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment; ability to pivot to critical path tasks as necessary Ability to interact with executives and managers Able to navigate technical architecture and design topics Ability to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to analyze data sets and create insightful visualizations to convey complicated information succinctly Demonstrated innovation and entrepreneurial mindset Ability to travel, including out of state on occasion
